The Perfect Cast

This is evolving into a one-month-one-post thing. Bleah!

Anyways, my Boys Over Flowers DVD has been gathering dust for months now and I finally had the chance to watch it, albeit only Disc 1. Honestly, it was starting to get a little repetitive for me. What do you expect? Been there and done that with the original manga, Taiwan and Japanese drama adaptations. Right, maybe I need to buck up on this KR version and get my hands on the 1995 Japanese movie to complete the “花より男子” equation.

There’s so many handsome boys to portray the beautiful Flower 4, and that many ladies to bring out the 牧野 つくし (杉菜) charisma. If all adaptations were to merge into one, (IMO) this must be the perfect combination:

牧野つくし ▪ Makino Tsukushi ▪ 금잔디

井上真央 (Inoue Mao) brought out the “tough weed” spirit of つくし perfectly <3

P.S. 구혜선 (Ku Hye Sun) did a pretty good job too! Can’t figure why so many detest her in Boys Over Flowers. *Shrugs*

道明寺司 ▪ Domyouji Tsukasa ▪ 구준표

Tough fight with 言承旭 (Jerry Yan, I like to call him Jelly instead), but I thought 이민호 (Lee Min Ho) looks way better with that curly perm head. HAHA!

花沢類 ▪ Hanazawa Rui ▪ 윤지후

His naturally emo look in 流星花園 (Meteor Garden) wins the rest hands down.

西門総二郎 ▪ Nishikado Soujiro ▪ 소이정

I’ve always loved the illustrations from 花より男子, but did he walk out of the manga book or something?! 也太像了吧! :O

美作あきら ▪ Mimasaka Akira ▪ 송우빈

Yeah no one made the cut. Tough character to portray, perhaps? One looks too old and another swings his hair every 5 seconds like a Pantene commercial. The last one has an uncanny resemblance to 山田孝之 (Takayuki Yamada).
